All of the Courts look to the Morrowen and their Hive Queens with distrust, even Spring, their titular liege lords. Surrendering their will and individuality to the Hive is not a decision taken lightly, but the solace offered in the alien embrace of the Hive has drawn those who are drowned by grief or ennui as well as those enamored with the premise of the perfectly egalitarian society. Desperate times might also see individuals joining the ranks of the Morrowen to protect their loved ones for once their delicate elfin traits are encased in coarse chitinous armor, a ‘gift’ of their life bound partners, their complete dedication to the cause, coupled with an absolute disregard for the self, make Morrowen terrifying warriors on the battlefield even with minimal training. Their collective consciousness makes a formation of Morrowen react in unison to threats on the battlefield, granting them a cohesion and discipline other units cannot hope to match. Lore:The kith-bands of the Weavers operate on a completely different structure to the formalized and often labyrinthine structure of the Seasonal Courts themselves. Leadership is earned by acclaim, an egalitarian process which has served them well for centuries. Lore:Lunopeth Moths were tamed and bound millennia ago by the Weaver Courts. Long lines of these night flyers have been life-bound to the weavers for so long, they are now an inseparable part of their society. The tangled terrain and verticality of the Weaver Domains lends itself to flying mounts. Their delicate bodies do not lend themselves well to the rigors of combat, but the Weavers have compensated for this, arming their riders with ranged weapons. The Skiathan Riders go to combat armed with cunningly wrought arbalests they can fire while on the wing, harrying the foe without exposing themselves to danger. How they play:   These flying cavalry skirmishers execute hit-and-run tactics, bombing enemy regiments as they fly overhead! Lore The Weaver Courts remember the Days of Fire and Ash, when the heavens shook and mountains tumbled and the Dweghom rose for a completely different reason: thats the day the True Dragons vanished. In their stead, appeared the Draics… curious dracoforms born of the very life force of the Ferann, given form by…something. They have been broadly broken into two categories: Scoth Draci are creatures of pure life and renewal, their mere presence awakening the land and vegetation near them. Possessing no more intellect than a puppy, they share their curiosity and playfulness, often living with an extended kith band, their gifts used to enhance the yield of crops and shape the trees themselves into abodes. Coill Draics on the other hand are aloof and solitary creatures who have inherited a part of the Dragon’s of old cold intellect and vast knowledge. Though fragmented and confusing, the breadth of their knowledge of the Faerann and history are without peer. Proud and unyielding, Coill Draics can be recruited in the defense of the Faerann, especially if their Domain is threatened, unlike the more innocent Scoth Draic, who have to be cajoled and tricked into battle. How they play Deadly and man-eating yet oddly playful, the Scoth Draic is the embodiment of Spring made manifest through lifebinding. Absolutely destructive in combat, but should it perish, new life blossoms from within it! This was amongst the first and greatest of the gifts that the True Dragons heaped upon the Weavers as they sought refuge beneath their wings. Little is known of the rites and rituals these otherwise gregarious characters must undergo to attain this gift, but such is their influence and power that there is never a shortage of young hopefuls eager to set off to the Courts of Winter and Summer where such secrets might be mastered. How they play:   As a powerful spellcaster, the Seachas Sidhe can tap into the arcane powers of the Summer or Winter High Courts. Lore The greatest, and perhaps most dangerous, goal of the Weaver Courts is their dream to make Ea a paradise, a dream realm where all strands of life work in perfect harmony together. The awakening of the Whisper has heralded a new age in this regard, but long before this sentience emerged, the Will o’Wisps danced through the glades and bogs of the Faerann. Not sentient, but clearly with purpose, these beings are understood to protect the forest. When danger arrives, they swarm to it, their coiling tentacles and noxious vapors hindering the foe while leaving the weavers entirely untroubled, much like they knew what the foreign body is, and who their allies are. How they play Will O’ Wisps are not combatants themselves – they are a beautiful, glistening visage that lures the enemy closer, only for them to realize too late the keen sharpshooters taking aim from behind. Seeds on their arrows pollinate and blossom as they interact with the Wisps’ magical aura. Counterweight discs for models and miniatures Steel modelling weights designed to balance miniatures, scale models, vehicles, scenery, and hobby projects by correcting weight distribution and centre of gravity. These compact steel counterweight discs measure 8 mm in diameter and 2 mm thick, making them easy to conceal underneath miniature bases or inside models where additional weight is required. They can be used individually or combined to progressively increase the amount of ballast. Their small round format makes them especially useful when there is very little internal space available, allowing the modeller to position the weight exactly where it is needed instead of adding a single large counterweight. They are particularly useful for wargaming miniatures with an off-centre centre of gravity, tall models, miniatures with large weapons, wings, banners or other elements that make the miniature prone to tipping over. Simply glue one or more steel discs underneath the miniature base to increase its stability without changing its external appearance. They can also be placed inside scale aircraft, military vehicles, tanks, ships, railway models, slot cars, dioramas, scenery and 3D printed models to correct balance, increase stability or simply give a lightweight model a more substantial feel. For permanent fixing, we recommend cyanoacrylate glue (CA/super glue) or epoxy adhesive. What are modelling weights used for? Modelling weights are small pieces of dense material placed inside or underneath a model to modify its weight distribution, balance or centre of gravity. Many scale models and miniatures are naturally unbalanced. A large weapon, extended arm, wing, banner, resin component or long overhanging section may move the centre of gravity away from the centre of the base. Adding a small amount of weight on the opposite side can compensate for this imbalance. In other situations, the objective is simply to place additional mass as low as possible. This is useful for tall miniatures, gaming terrain, or models that are frequently handled, because a heavier lower section generally makes them less prone to accidental tipping. Miniature Counterweight recommended placement Application Typical problem Recommended placement Wargaming miniatures Tall or asymmetric miniature tips over easily Under the miniature base, preferably towards the opposite side of the overhanging part Large monsters and creatures Wings, tails, or weapons move the centre of gravity Under the base or inside the lower body Busts and display figures Lightweight base does not feel stable Inside the plinth or display base Dioramas Tall trees, signs, walls or scenery elements are unstable Inside or underneath the terrain base Scale aircraft Model becomes a tail sitter Inside the nose section before final assembly Tanks and AFVs Model feels too light, or a metal barrel unbalances the turret Inside the hull or opposite side of the turret Static model ships Lightweight hull or display model needs more mass Low inside the hull Slot cars Weight distribution or centre of gravity requires tuning Inside the chassis after testing different positions Model railway rolling stock Very light rolling stock may track poorly Low and centrally positioned inside the vehicle 3D printed models Hollow prints can be extremely lightweight Inside hollow sections before final assembly Gaming scenery Towers, street lights, signs, or vertical elements tip easily Hidden inside the lowest available section Adding weight to the noses of airplanes, the hulls of armored vehicles, tank turrets, and diorama elements with moving parts may often require weight compensation as well.
