Genya no Yokai walks the path of the Ayakashi, and the world itself shudders at their step. Lacking the refinement of their counterparts, these feral behemoths make up for it in sheer power. Twisting the power and enlightenment to their own selfish needs, these raging colossi are capable of drawing all forms of energy and enlightenment into themselves, feeding their bottomless hunger and rage, making them terrifying foes who know no mercy, no weakness and offer no respite to their beleaguered foes.  Greatest among the Yoroni are those who seek to emulate the path of Shuten-doji, the first of their path to walk and master the path of Enlightenment. While none have yet managed to replicate this legendary achievement, many of the greatest among the Yoroni continue to try this lonely path. Their forms have swelled to accommodate the power their enlightenment affords them even as their corruption and impurities slowly seep from their bodies, further perfecting them as they walk the path towards ultimate enlightenment.    How they play:The feral Genya no Yokai, unlike the Dai, draws power from all Ideal Types slowly getting more and more enraged and powerful as more Ideal Type effects are applied to it. The eldest and most accomplished of Sorcerers are amongst the few living creatures that regularly interact with the Steelshapers. They are also among the few who can see past the awe they inspire and truly grasp the changes this final transformation brings. On the surface, it becomes impossible to tell where their armor begins and where their flesh ends. Their voices echo hollow and their eyes stare expressionless. They clearly possess a terrifying genius and an unparalleled mental capacity, which they fixate relentlessly on problems about one of their alien interests or an experimental project, to which they ceaselessly devote themselves. Their power itself is entirely alien, different in both invocation and effect from the raw elemental might they wove before. Still, it is none of those things that bring fear to the elder Sorcerers. It is not even the sheer, daunting weight of responsibility that hangs from Steelshaper shoulders, as almost all the functions within a Dweghom Hold and all the works of the Temple Forge depend on their unipue and brilliant innovations, a weight they seem to bare seamlessly with borderline indifference. It is simply that the Elders fear these beings are no longer Dweghom. While none argue with their effectiveness on the battlefield, few can understand the sorceries they bring to bear. Those who can grasp the faintest edges of the power a Steelshaper possesses would be rightfully puzzled by the notion that an army containing one might be defeated or even challenged, for their control over metal is total. Those who have questioned a Steelshaper on this issue invariable receive the same, flat and unexplained answer: Balance is needed. How They Play: Ascended to a place of power that questions their very nature as Dweghom, the Steelshapers bend the elements to their will as if they were an extension of their own self. The steelshaper commands the elemental construct part of the Dweghom forces - their advance covered by devastating torrents of Fireforged's sorcerous fire!

The fumes and heat produced from this process are channeled outwards, generating a powerful field that both weakens the foe and innervates the wielder making him impervious to damage as his foes wither and melt around him.    How they play: The Magmaforged are the more heavily armored brethren of the Flame Berserkers, focusing on following up on the Berserkers' advance and tasked with holding onto the territory the Berserkers cleared before them.

While Biomancers and Pheromancers might turn the soldiers into ravening automata and Lineage Highborn might be unstoppable on the field, it is the High Clone Executors who time and again deliver victories across a hundred different battlefields. To achieve the rank of Executor, a clone must have advanced through the ranks of the Vanguard Infantry and Infiltrators. This hard-earned battlefield experience grants them deep tactical and strategic insight that is seldom found within a Spire’s forces. Competition for recognition and advancement among the high clones is fierce and its expressions are not only physical and violent. These are broadly tolerated, if not encouraged, by their overseers, to enhance these desired traits and cull those lacking them. Those that survive and excel in the Infiltrator teams earn the right to don the powerful Pteraphon suits. It is a testament to the seductive nature of the raw physical power this suit provides (and the highly addictive cocktail of drugs and pheromones it secretes) that only a tiny fraction of those who survive long enough elect to abandon these suits and demand their selfhood be recognized. It is a curious aspect of Spire social structure that the concept of nation or state does not exist in that one is either acknowledged as a sentient being or is not. Once sentience is established, then all social standing and value is derived from one’s Lineage and personal achievement. And yet, while their individuality is recognized, High Clones are stigmatized with the ‘Clone’ moniker despite having proven their value to the Spire through grueling and dangerous service in order to secure their right to selfhood. This leaves the newly recognized High Clones with but one of two choices for advancement: join the Arenas or seek the patronage of a Lineage. Of the two paths, it is often remarked that joining a Lineage is by far the most hazardous; in the Arena, the saying goes, you at least know who your adversaries are. Nothing, on the other hand, has prepared a High Clone for the machinations and power plays of Lineage politics. Lacking the refined education of their Spire betters, veteran High Clones possess only those skills they have earned on the battlefield. Tactically knowledgeable as infantry men and strategically acute as infiltrators and Pteraphon riders, High Clones excel at what they do but not always at the society they live in. A fraction of them have managed to adapt and employ their training in politics, rising above their intended station. Most often than not, they are given a modest stipend and employed as ceremonial guards, (since the real bodyguard roles for the truly exalted amongst their society are reserved for those creatures whose loyalty and combat capacity are compelled by Biomantic means). Those who are not content with these limited roles must vie to be recognized as Executors, officers in one of the Sovereign Lineages’ armies. In order to advance through the ranks, Executors must have proven and keep proving their ability time and again, both on the field of battle and without. They must secure chances at proving their capacity, provide victory on the battlefield and be able to claim credit for that victory, always vying against backstabbing colleagues, jealous superiors and ruthlessly demanding masters. Lore For many in the Tempered Caste, the Steelshaper represents the pinnacle of Dweghom development, but the sad truth is that none of those who aspire to this lofty title and incredible achievement truly understands what the transformation entails. When a Dweghom sorcerer achieves such mastery over his power that he can control both primordial affinities, he is capable of ascending to a higher understanding of the powers he commands. This much is understood by all who walk the path of the Sorcerer, and is the source of the raw power that Magma Sorcerers can command. The mistake they make is in believing that mixing these primordial elements is anything like melding them. Only a small fraction of Sorcerers ever attain this level of mastery over the Elements, with most simply stopping upon achieving mastery over Magma. The comfortable lie one might chose to believe in is that most Sorcerers simply lack the touch of genius needed to achieve such complete control. The most perceptive amongst those who speak to these Master Sorcerers might see the real reason hiding behind their gruff demeanors and overwhelming Elemental power: fear. These eldest and most accomplished of Sorcerers are amongst the few living creatures that regularly interact with the Steelshapers. They are also among the few who can see past the awe they inspire and truly grasp the changes this final transformation brings. On the surface, it becomes impossible to tell where their armor begins and where their flesh ends. Their voices echo hollow and their eyes stare expressionless. They clearly possess a terrifying genius and an unparalleled mental capacity, which they fixate relentlessly on problems about one of their alien interests or an experimental project, to which they ceaselessly devote themselves. Their power itself is entirely alien, different in both invocation and effect from the raw elemental might they wove before. Still, it is none of those things that bring fear to the elder Sorcerers. It is not even the sheer, daunting weight of responsibility that hangs from Steelshaper shoulders, as almost all the functions within a Dweghom Hold and all the works of the Temple Forge depend on their unique and brilliant innovations, a weight they seem to bare seamlessly with borderline indifference. It is simply that the Elders fear these beings are no longer Dweghom. While none argue with their effectiveness on the battlefield, few can understand the sorceries they bring to bear. Those who can grasp the faintest edges of the power a Steelshaper possesses would be rightfully puzzled by the notion that an army containing one might be defeated or even challenged, for their control over metal is total. Those who have questioned a Steelshaper on this issue invariable receive the same, flat and unexplained answer: Balance is needed.
