In 1938 the United States was left reeling from the disasterous conclusion of the Carnegie Complex Standoff. Striking workers using captured equipment and rudimentary industrial powersuits managed to put up a legitimate fight against the Odyssia National Guard, and the Federal Army after them. It was made clear from this event that the force-multiplying power of hardsuits would be important in future conflicts, and so the procurement process began that would result in the X19 series. Designed by Marathon Motor Works and issued in large numbers all throughout the Great War, the X19 Badger is the single most produced suit of powered armor ever made. In combat, hardsuits are typically utilized as mobile heavy weapon platforms, or to provide cover for exposed or advancing infantry. When the need arises, multiple hardsuits may be requisitioned to form an armored fist with which to attack. Their thick armor, deceptive speed, and brutal strength prove a formidable combination. This box includes four frames containing a total of 4 hard-plastic power armor figures for the United States of America in Marcher: Empires at War. The Merlin represents the pinnacle of Commonwealth walker design by complementing its human crews with an onboard automated management 'brain' called Guinevere. In addition to its two fists, the Merlin utilises a 3” anti-tank gun as its main weapon. Arm mounted twin .50cal heavy machine guns and a hull-mounted medium machine gun are effective for dealing with infantry and light vehicles. However, it is the Guinevere automatic brain that makes the Merlin unique. It assists the crew in performing routine and mundane tasks operating the walker, but in battle it really comes into its own. The Merlin incorporates several complex self-repair systems controlled by Guinevere. Reacting faster than any human, it responds to damaging hits by activating backup systems, rerouting power or hydraulics and extinguishing fires before they can spread. Should the crew become temporarily incapacitated Guinevere can even pilot the walker for a short time. The Puma is, arguably, one of the best-looking armoured cars of WWII. A variant of the Sdkfz 234 it boasted a fully enclosed turret with a 5cm gun and thicker armour than other variants. Despite this additional armour the Puma was still capable of speeds greater than 50 miles per hour (that's 85km) and saw use as a scout vehicle from 1943 onwards on both Eastern and Western fronts. In games of Bolt Action the Puma is considered a light tank (DV 8+), is armed with a medium anti-tank gun and has the Recce special rule. It can be included in any armoured platoon. This vehicle can also be used in games of Achtung Panzer!, the game of close-quarters tank-on-tank combat, its rules can be found in the Achtung Panzer! rulebook.
