When the Sergeant and his men first came to town there were many folks that weren't keen on them at all. Dead Man's Hand is a town that doesn't like interference from anyone. The thought of a group of strangers coming to town, bringing rules and regulations from the outside was never going to make them popular. Over time though most folks have seen the men as a force for good.
