Metal Color is the innovative range of metallic colors with a water-based formulation, which uses aluminium pigments in its production. The Metal Color range offers a wide range of shades in order to imitate the metallic finish of aircraft of all types and eras. Of exceptional brightness and extraordinary power of reflection, it allows the modeler to carry out the full range of painting techniques without the need to resort to enamels and lacquers.
It can be applied directly to the model using an airbrush or diluted with our Airbrush Thinner or Flow Improver. Metal Color dries very quickly, maintaining the smallest details present on the model and forming a homogeneous and self-leveling layer of extraordinary resistance a few hours after application. Metal Color can be tinted directly in the airbrush cup using colors from the Model Air or Game Air ranges.
It can also be applied with a brush. Recommended compressor settings for our colors are around 15-20 Psi or 0.5-1 kg. It is advisable, in the case of airframes and aircraft model components, to apply Gloss Black Primer, available in 60 ml/2.02 fl oz bottles (ref. 73.660) with hinge cap and dropper, to enhance the special characteristics of the aluminium shades.
Metal Color dries very quickly, but it is advisable to wait 12 hours after application before applying any paint masks.
Packaging:Available in 32 ml/1.08 fl oz bottles with a hinged cap and eyedropper closure. Includes stainless steel stirring ball to improve paint mixing.
Safety:Metal Color is not flammable, and does not contain solvents. Please see also certified safety information of the product on the Safety page.
Range of extra opaque acrylic colors, including white opaque for model making and handicrafts.
This range is a specially developed line of paints designed for hobby modeling and miniature painting including 24 unsaturated opaque colors in pigmentation but with a high coverage capacity.
They are not transparent or see-through and when applied to a surface, they cover what's underneath, hiding any previous layers or simply using fewer coats, most of the time just one coat. They are thicker and have a high pigment concentration, which makes them excellent for achieving solid and vibrant color coverage. They are commonly used in crafts, and hobbies like model painting, to create rich and creative finishes.
Use them as a base paint to start your projects, or in those places where high coverage is necessary. Complement them with other model paints or inks to add saturation and color intensity. Dilute it with water or acrylic thinner to be able to use it with an airbrush.
This range is sold in dropper bottles with a metal agitator ball that will allow you a quick mixing. This type of dropper bottle, with the help of its nozzle, will also extend a lot of its shelf life by practically isolating contact with air.

Dry brush paint
Dry brushing is a popular technique used in the scale modeling and wargaming community for creating a variety of effects. This technique involves using brushes with a small amount of paint to selectively highlight raised areas of a model, terrain piece, or miniature figure.
Dry brush paints are specifically designed and are thicker than traditional ones and have a higher pigment concentration, allowing the user to layer gradually to build up the desired effect and therefore making them ideal for creating a more subtle effect. They have a unique texture and consistency, which can help to create specific effects such as rust, weathering, or stone texture.
It is important to use a good quality, flat or round brush with flexible bristles. This will help to create the desired effect and ensure that the paint is applied evenly and without damaging their bristles. The brush should be loaded with a small amount of paint, and the excess should be removed before applying it to the model or terrain piece. This will help to prevent clumping and ensure that the paint is applied smoothly.
These paints are a great option for those who are new to the dry brushing technique, which can be used in a variety of applications, from highlighting the details of miniature figures to creating a weathered appearance on vehicles and terrain pieces. It is a versatile technique that can be used on a range of surfaces.
Common uses in modeling for Dry Brush Paints
These paints, in particular, are often used in this Dry Brushing technique. Here are some common uses in modeling:
Highlighting details: They are often used to highlight the details on miniature figures, such as wrinkles in clothing, facial features, and weapons.
Creating weathering effects: They are ideal for creating weathering effects on models, such as rust, dirt, and grime. By lightly dragging a dry paintbrush loaded with paint over the surface of the model, it creates a worn, weathered appearance.
Adding texture: They can be used to add texture to a model's surface. For example, a dry brush with silver can be used to create the appearance of scratches on metal surfaces.
Enhancing contrast: They can also be used to enhance contrast on a model's surface, creating a more visually appealing appearance. This is particularly useful when painting terrain pieces or large models.
Painting scenery: They can be used to paint scenery, such as rocks, trees, and buildings. By using a dry brushing technique, it creates a more realistic appearance with subtle shades and highlights.

Water-soluble patinas to make miniatures, scale models, terrain, and props look dirty and worn down.
Water-Soluble Patina is a partially water-soluble decorative patina designed to create realistic effects of aging, grime, rust, moisture, soot, wear, and tonal variations on miniatures, models, scenery, props, and other non-porous surfaces. Its formula provides an ultra-matte, natural finish and is designed so that the pigments settle organically into crevices, textures, and reliefs, achieving more believable results than those of conventional paint. Additionally, it is a non-toxic acrylic product with no harsh fumes.
It is important to shake the product well before each use, as some components may separate and settle at the bottom of the container during storage. If it has been left to stand for a long time, you can use metal balls to mix it thoroughly. Using a wet palette is not recommended. It can be applied directly or diluted slightly with water if necessary. Clean brushes and tools with water or alcohol immediately after use and prevent the product from drying on them.
It can also be used with an airbrush to achieve smoother transitions, weathering effects, and large-scale aging effects. Depending on the pressure used in the compressor, it may be necessary to slightly dilute the product for use in the airbrush. In that case, add a few drops of water and stir until well diluted. Clean the airbrush as usual after use.
Apply to clean, dry, grease-free surfaces such as plastic, resin, or metal. Not recommended for porous or absorbent surfaces such as untreated wood or paper. The intensity of the effect will depend on the amount applied, the number of coats, and the technique used. To remove and activate the product, use cotton swabs, a brush, or a sponge dampened with water to remove excess and activate the product, thereby achieving finishes ranging from soft and subtle to more intense, irregular, and personalized effects.
Since it is partially water-soluble, the finish may be altered if it gets wet or is handled with wet hands; therefore, it is recommended to seal the final result with a matte varnish (or mod podge) to preserve it and maintain its natural appearance.

Metallic Acrylic Paint – Vivid Metal Color SeriesGSW's Vivid Metal Colors series takes metallic finishes to another level, offering extraordinarily vivid, intense colors that are hard to find in the world of model making. These almost unique shades provide a striking metallic sheen thanks to their intense colors, adding a distinctive touch to any miniature, model, or scenery piece.
Formulated with the highest quality ultra-fine pigments, these pearl-based metallic paints provide a truly stunning metallic effect, guaranteeing professional results even on small or highly detailed surfaces. Their coverage, combined with fast drying, allows you to work comfortably and efficiently.
They can be combined with each other or with other paints and auxiliary products such as varnishes, although it is recommended to use gloss varnish, satin varnish, or our chrome varnish. They can also be combined with our range of Candy Inks or our range of Interference or Metal Filter paints:
They can be used together with candy inks, due to their high transparency and shine, acting as color filters on metallic surfaces, gems, crystals, or lights, allowing you to modify and enhance the base metallic tone without losing definition. By applying a very thin layer of ink to the already painted metal, you can achieve unique color variations—intensifying reds, greens, blues, or intermediate shades—for vibrant and deep visual effects. They can also be used in conjunction with the range of metal filters, which provide reflections that change depending on the angle of the light, generating pearly or iridescent sparkles that transform the metallic finish into something much more dynamic. This combination allows you to create striking special effects, from armor with changing sparkles to details with an almost magical appearance, producing results that stand out both on the table and in the display case. The Vivid Metal Color series is water-based and completely non-toxic, and is optimized for use with both brushes and airbrushes. For optimal performance with an airbrush, we recommend starting with a 1:1 dilution with acrylic thinner.
Each bottle includes a stainless steel ball to ensure a homogeneous mixture that is ready to use in seconds.
