WHO GOETH THERE?
Not everyone ventures into the wilds after fame and fortune. Some patrol the villages and cities or guard the caravans of travelers and their goods. The men and women who choose to be professional protectors come in a variety of shapes and sizes along with varying levels of skills. Most are good, honest servants of the law but the occasional bad apple can tarnish reputations by demanding bribes or worse. In some city states the guard are little more than a tool of a kleptocratic overlord’s greed. Still, when the orc horde comes to the city gates they are better than nothing!

Bring the streets alive with this add-on set - with 55 different events and happenings that will make your games even more memorable!
Play a card when the 1st or 2nd Time token is drawn (this replaces the standard rules using the Identify card to choose and move a civilian).
Every card starts with identifying a civilian. The icon in the corner tells you the type of figure to look for, and there will often be more specific criteria in order to tell the story.
Then the chosen figure moves and other figures will react, but again with a lot more variety and different consequences. So if a Beggar moves close enough to a guard, they might feel compelled to spare him a coin. Assistant Required sees a wizardly type aiming to recruit a worker for his nefarious needs. Clandestine Meeting has a rogue rendezvous with a contact inside a building. Careless has someone with a torch or a candle possibly starting a fire.
There are also cards that identify a trader on the board - maybe they’ll go up to the nearest guard and offer their services, or attract a crowd of customers. Other cards activate animals or wagons if you have them available.
The City Life cards also allow you to move an ally if you have one and they might help you spot a sneaking suspect or rush to help one of your guards.
Overall the deck has the same balance of different civilians as the Identify card (so if you modelled your figures to cover everything on the chart, don’t worry - all your minis are still represented in this deck). And as always, if you don’t have a figure that exactly matches what the card says, you get to choose someone else who seems suitable.
