Dirty Down Rust Effect is a water-based, acrylic paint designed to create realistic rust effects with minimal effort. Using a unique formulation, it produces natural colour variation and texture as it dries, making it ideal for miniatures, terrain, dioramas, scenery pieces, and prop work.
The effect develops organically during the drying process and can be intensified or softened by reactivating the paint with water. This makes it particularly suitable for layered weathering and controlled ageing effects.
Usage
- Shake well before use.
- Apply with a brush, sponge, or stippling motion to the desired surface.
- Allow to dry naturally; the rust effect will become more pronounced as it dries.
- While drying, the paint can be reactivated with clean water to adjust colour, spread pigment, or create streaking effects.
- Can be applied over acrylic basecoats. Sealing between layers is recommended if you want to preserve underlying paintwork.
Suitable for plastic, resin, metal, MDF, and painted surfaces.
